After receiving a call from a fellow team parent saying that they had made it to Oxford, but due to car troubles had to turn back to Cheltenham, leaving our established team short of a number 5 and a reserve. I knew today was going to turn out to be some what of a challenging day, but challenging due to tough matches & not car troubles. After various text messages and phone calls while sitting in numerous lay by's.
Step up to the plate Amanda, who dropped every thing to get the two girls in question collected from Cheltenham and down to Croydon in time for our second match.
Our first match was Hertfordshire, with the handicap of only fielding 4 players Gloucestershire still managed to win 4:1 without dropping a game, and one walk over due to our player still being some where on the M4.
After lunch with a full squad, Gloucestershire came up against Surrey, after some tough battles Gloucestershire eventually won 3:2.
Finally our third and final match was Avon, and as per Stage one Gloucestershire beat them 5:0, with out dropping a game.
So the girls have made it through to another final !
A big thank you to the girls who gave it there all today, and special big thank you to Amanda for helping us out at the eleventh hour.
